Update: MAY 16, 2006

The RPG is STILL active though desperately needs more members to keep the writing fresh. I have not run the list, however, since May last year and have passed it into the very capable hands of Carol who plays one of the Withington sisters. She will attend to your emails. :) This site will be left up as a resource for those seeking more information about the Regency period and for those who are currently in or wanting to join the RPG.

Character wishlist:

  • Villains! We have a rake and a sly father on the lookout for a wife, but the list needs some underhanded people (both male and female) to round off the innocent young things.
  • Snobs! We need some more snobbery. Mature characters set in their ways, old money, gossips and nosy-parkers. We need them!
  • Working class! Don't feel like playing nobility? Play a commoner! We need people in trade too. Modistes that are privy to all the ladies gossip, club owners, lawyers, farmers, evil chimny sweeps, etc, etc, etc. You wanna play 'em? Sign up! We're still trying to establish a devision of the classes so we can get multiple storylines going.

    -We are not a living romance novel. We are NOT taking silly fanciful characters so beautiful it hurts to look at them. REALISTIC CHARACTERS ONLY, PLEASE. If I get anymore violet eyed/raven haired or emerald eyed/fiery haired maidens, I will ban you from ever joining and then shoot myself. Sexy scars and golden eyed men are also a nono. If your character has anything like this, then it is WAY too contrived for this list.

    - It is IMPERATIVE that you read through the rules and character requirements before joining Regency Manor. It is very obvious who does and who doesn't. Those who don't will be kicked out of the listing until they prove that they have read the site information.

    - "Eccentric aunts" are not being accepted, nor are any more family members to those already playing unless you have contacted the list mods for permission.

    The year is 1813. The Prince Regent ascended the throne of England in 1811 and has set an example to his people by being a decadent, unfaithful and irresponsible king. However, the society of Regency England is at it's peak, with ladies being more free in this period of time than ever they had been or will be until the 20th century, and gentlemen living the easy life.

    It's a time of grace and splendour... with just a little bit of scandal thrown in for good measure.

    Please take a seat, make yourselves comfortable and enjoy the interaction between maid and man, soldier and servant, priest and apprentice.

    This is where the grace of a bygone era revisits modern times and modern people.
